From NetFlix:
Wildly disparate lives converge in this two-part television thriller about a respected London barrister facing a career-ending rape charge and a punk ex-con caught up in a dangerous conspiracy while searching for his biological father.
Michael Kitchen is probably best know to you as Foyle of the British TV series “Foyle’s War” which is a must-see in its own right. Foyle is the good guy. However, in “The Guilty” Michael Kitchen plays the London barrister-rapist Steven Vey who is definitely the bad guy. He portrays perfectly a cynical cad caught up in his own evil past.
His victims come together by twists of fate in this clever plot. Stay tuned to see what happens to the lawyer-as-monster.
Two DVD disks from NetFlix offer English subtitles.
DO NOT MISS !
There are 13 seasons. Frost is an aging, lonely, sarcastic British
detective. Wife Kathy objects that it shows the sad, grubby parts of
England. But it has a humane reality to it that doesn’t have to be grisly
to be entertaining.
From NetFlix:
Writer-director Robert Rodriguez’s indie debut and his big-budget follow-up are both featured on this disc. Sundance Film Festival winner El Mariachi chronicles the travails of a traveling musician (Carlos Gallardo) who’s been mistaken for an assassin who carries his weapons in a guitar case — and whom the local crime lord wants dead. In Desperado, the mariachi (Antonio Banderas) returns — this time seeking revenge. Salma Hayek co-stars.
Robert Rodriguez made this film in Mexico for $9000 which is,
of course, absurdly low. He could shoot each scene only once.
For a beginner in Spanish, this is the perfect film because the
Spanish is terse and very easy. This is a violent film.
Once CD contains both “El Mariachi” and “Desperado”. Try to see “El Mariachi”
before watching “Desperado”.
Films Tony is comfortable recommending.
